Saphir Réno’Mat Cleaner

The Saphir Renomat Cleaner is a powerful deep-cleaning solution designed to remove built-up dirt, old polish, silicone, and resin from smooth leather surfaces. Ideal for restoring tired footwear, it prepares the leather for fresh conditioning and polishing—bringing shoes back to their best.

It is particularly recommended for the care of smooth leather, as it is always better to properly clean the surface rather than simply covering dirt with recolouring products. By removing residue and build-up, Renomat allows nourishing products to penetrate more effectively—helping to maintain the leather’s condition over time.

Formulated for effective yet controlled cleaning, it works without damaging the leather when used correctly. This deeper treatment supports the material’s natural properties, and helps prevent the leather from cracking by allowing proper hydration in the next care steps.

Purpose:
It acts as a deep, intensive cleaner to strip old polish, wax and dirt from leather. Use only one in a while (e.g. annually) or to remove stains/buildup.

Using Saphir Renomat properly will restore your shoes and prepare them for conditioning and polishing.

How to use Réno’Mat Cleaner

Step 1 – Remove Surface Dirt

Brush off loose dirt and dust using a soft shoe brush or cloth.
(This prevents rubbing debris into the leather.)

Step 2 – Apply Renomat

Dampen a clean cloth with a small amount of Renomat.
Gently rub the leather in circular motions.

You’ll notice old polish and residue lifting off — that’s exactly what you want.

Step 3 – Wipe Clean

Use a fresh section of the cloth to wipe away any remaining residue.
Repeat lightly if needed, but don’t over-saturate the leather.

Step 4 – Let the Leather Rest

Allow the shoes to dry naturally for 10–15 minutes.
Avoid heat or direct sunlight.

Step 5 – Condition the Leather – Renovateur Cream

This step is essential — Renomat cleans deeply, so the leather now needs hydration. It is essential to restore suppleness. Renovateur contains beeswax, providing an initial layer of defence before you apply your final colour creans or waxes

Step 6 – Polish - Creme 1925 Médaille d'Or
